Comcast will add more channels and providing more choices for their customers. (Customer may already view some of these channels depending on location.)
Comcast customers have been requesting a move toward consistent channel numbers for Collier and Lee Counties. The new channel lineup will group similar channels together for viewing ease. This move will allow the company to service all Southwest Florida customers from its advanced engineering facility located in Bonita Springs. This facility is staffed with engineers 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Below is the new lineup with the new channel positions as of October 1, 2009 and October 7, 2009.
“We are pleased to now offer our customers in Southwest Florida more viewing choices and a standardized channel lineup,” said Barbara Hagen, market vice president/general manager of Comcast of Southwest Florida. “Customers will receive an updated channel lineup in the mail. This card will be a convenient guide for channel locations. The mailer will also include instructions for programming favorites through the remote control, updating parental blocking and reprogramming the remote control. Our website can also be viewed at (www.comcastflorida.com/channelsandservices).”
Comcast will notify customers about the new channel alignment through newspaper ads, radio and TV spots. New channel lineups will be mailed to customers’ homes. A message on The Weather Channel crawl will direct viewers to www.comcastflorida.com/channelsandservices for new channel lineups in their areas.
A limited number of customers who subscribe to packages which no longer are available, will be asked to choose an existing package. This may result in an adjustment to the cost of their service.
Comcast recently launched seven additional high definition channels to its lineup bringing the total number of high-definition (HD) channels to 49. Some of the new HD programming includes Comedy HD, VH1 HD, MTV HD, E! HD, Travel HD, and Cartoon HD. As HD viewing skyrockets, Comcast Corporation, the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications, now has more than 1,000 HD viewing choices, delivering on the company’s commitment to significantly increase HD programming.
Comcast is bringing its customers a new standardized channel lineup, including the analog channels and digital channels (channel 100 and greater).
